Fishing System

In addition to the Mining and Forging system, a similar grinding system is now making its way into bRO. The Fishing System. This system can aid players a little in grinding from time to time.

Fishing World is similar to Mining and Forging System where you can level up and manage various skills, but it's also different in some ways. If you are familiar with the House of Trials fishing system, it's the same but with addition with gears and different baits! In this system, there's a number of items that you can obtain and help you improve your fishing proficiency.

Note: Items, drop rates, and other aspects may be changed without notice. Furthermore, attempting to abuse this system will be punished accordingly. If you encounter any bugs, please report them via the forums as soon as possible.

Fishing Quest

If you are interested to start fishing, you need to finish your fishing quest first. Talk to the Fishing Master located at atlantis 130 220 and he will give you a slightly troublesome quest.

This quest will reward you with some basic fishing gears that will test your patience.

How to Start Fishing

Once you've obtained your fishing gears from completing the Fishing Quest, you're ready to start fishing! First, find a fishing shoal. If you're new to fishing, you need to start at Beginner Fishing Shoals. As you gain levels, new fishing gear, and new fishing skills, you can choose to move to higher level shoals.

1. Equip all the Bamboo Fishing Rod, Rookie Fishing ID, and Fishing Companion: Husky. Since these are in the same category as costumes, they will replace any costume headgear that you may be wearing. If you wish to be able to use your fishing gear's effects and keep wearing your costume headgears, type @fishing, look for the Set-up Fishing Gears option, and from there, you can choose which fishing gear effect to take effect. You can do this for the hat, companion, and vest.
2. Once your fishing gears are all set, the next step is to find a Fishing Shoal appropriate for your angler level and fishing stats.
3. As of February 24, 2024, a Voting Check System has been added to fishing. This means that you need to vote in the main website for at least 3 times every 24 hours.
   1. You have to vote using the account that you're using to fish, otherwise, you can't fish.
   2. Take note that you can vote 6 times every 12 hours, thus you can vote 12 times every 24 hours. For example, if you're using two accounts, one as your main account, and one account for just fishing, you need to vote 3 times using the fishing account if you want to fish. As for the remaining 9 votes, you can vote using your main account.
4. As of April 3, 2023, the Social Stamina System has been added. You'll need to get some stamina before you can actually start fishing.
5. Before you can actually begin fishing, you need to set your bait and attractants. Attractants are optional, and unless you wish to lure in a specific boss fish or have a lot of these, you will not need to set any these.
6. To set up your bait, type @fishing or click on a fishing shoal, choose Set-up Bait and Attractants, and choose Change Bait. Choosing Change Bait will show you all the baits you currently have in your inventory, so choose which one you wish to use.
7. If you wish to use an attractant, type @fishing or click on a fishing shoal, choose Set-up Bait and Attractants, and choose Set Attractants. Choosing Set Attractants will show you all the attractants you currently have in your inventory, so choose which one you wish to use. If you wish to stop using an attractant, go back to the Set-up Bait and Attractants menu, and choose Remove Attractants.
8. Once you've set both your fishing gears and bait/attractant, you're ready to start fishing! Click on a fishing shoal. Choose Go Fishing!. After that, you will be prompted with a captcha. A random question will be asked and you must choose the correct answer from the given choices. Don't worry, the answers are already given along with the question. It will just be a matter of you choosing the correct one from the choices. If you chose the correct answer, you will be able to proceed to the next step. If you chose the incorrect answer, you will be put into a 15-minute fishing cooldown.
9. After the captcha check, choose Cast Your Line, and then wait for the pitching cast time to complete. If you're successful in luring a fish, you can choose to Reel It In or Force Capture. Ideally, you will want to choose Reel It In. After reeling it in, continue choosing Pump and Reel Again several times until the fish's stamina becomes 0, or your Line Str becomes 0. Once you've hit 0 in either the fishing stamina or your line str, you will now need to choose "Capture". If you're successful, you will capture the fish, as well as have the chance of acquiring any of the items that it drops.

Additional Notes:

• The amount of damage you've dealt in proportion to the fish's stamina is the chance you have in successfully catching the fish. If you whittled its stamina to 0, then you got a 100% chance of catching it. If the fish's stamina was 1500, and you've dealt 750 damage to it, you will have a 50% chance of catching it. If the fish's stamina was 1500, and you've dealt 300 damage to its stamina, you only have a 20% chance of catching it.
• Trying to reel in a fish while it has 0 stamina will be eaten by other fish, thus you will lose the fish. If you try to reel in while you already have 0 line str, the fishing line will break, and the fish will escape. So, make sure to pay attention while fishing!
• Your raw power stat will determine how much damage is dealt to a fish. However, fishes have varied amounts of defense points. The damage you deal to fishes will be mitigated by this defense stat. So, for example, if the fish has a defense stat of 15, and you have 41 raw power, the damage that you can deal to this fish will be anywhere from 26 up to 41. If a fish has 0 defense, then you will deal the full amount of your raw power.

Fishing Coins

Fishing coins are primarily obtained from a successful fishing attempt. The amount of coins given this way depends on the rarity of the fish caught.

Fishing coins are also obtained by opening fishes, and from the Fishing Daily Quest.

These coins are used to purchase and craft various fishing related items.

You can access the Daily Fishing Mission from him. He also sells the Fishing Packages.

If you have amassed quite a bit of fish, you can choose to craft an Intermediate Fishing ID. Simply bring the required items to the Chairman. Once you have the Intermediate Fishing ID, after saving up more and more fishes, you can upgrade it to higher ranks.

You can also purchase a Fishing Basket from him to store your fishes. It costs 300 Fishing Coins.

You can find this NPC in @warp atlantis 144 212. This NPC will require the use of Blood Pearls and some 1B Zeny Bags. Blood Pearls are obtainable from Moby Dick, Trout, Hermit Crab, Sea Horse, Piranha, Eel, Anoligator, Lava Oyster, and Love A Stingray.

• Fishing Rods don't break
• Fishing Rods can get downgraded on failing a refinement.
• Refinement cost will increase based on refinement.
• Each refinement level will increase Raw Power + 1 and Fishing Boss Damage + 1

Fishing Stats and Equipment Types

Fishing Stats
Stat	Effect
Fish Stamina	Each fish has random stamina points. Like health points, you need to bring it down as much as you can, preferably to zero. The percent of health points you reduced is equivalent to your chance of catching the fish. Meaning if you manage to reduce it to 50% then you have 50% chance to catch the fish. Remember, you must catch the fish immediately once its stamina reaches 0. If you don't catch it at 0, it will be eaten by other fish.
Raw Power	The maximum damage you can deal on fishes stamina each time you pump and reel in.
Line Str	The durability of your fishing line. Each time you reel-in your fishing line durability will be reduced. If you reel in after it goes to 0. It will break.
Lucky Catch	Chance to instantly catch a fish.
Attraction	Ability to attract fishes. The higher your attraction, the higher your chance to attract higher rarity fish.
Cooldown Reduction	Reduce your waiting time before you can start fishing again. Default waiting time is 15 minutes. This can be reduced with gears and skills.
Rebait	Chance for your fishing session to not consume a "bait".
Retract	Chance for your fishing session to not consume an "attractant".
Refresh	Chance to reset cooldown so you can start fishing again immediately.
Loot Rate	Increase your chance to obtain loots from fishes.
EXP Explosion	Chance to get extra 50% experience bonus.
Fetch	Chance to catch an extra fish instantly. No bait is consumed if this effect is triggered
Boss Damage	Increases your damage against Boss and Mythical Fishes. This bonus damage will only be applied when you're trying to reel in a Boss or Mythical fish.
Mythical Attraction	Increases chance of attracting Mythical fishes

Fishing Equipment and Items
Equipment	Use
Fish Rod	A basic requirement. You cannot start fishing without a fishing rod. Fishing World rods are shadow equipment. You need to equip them before you can start fishing. There are different types of fishing rod, and all of them having different stats and rarity. Some can also be bought from the Fishing Merchant.
Baits	Similar with fishing Rod, you cannot go fishing without baits. You can buy baits from the Fishing Master and each of these baits has different stats. A special bait like "lobster" can attract special fishes too. Those fishes can drop amazing loots. Baits are consumed on each fishing instance.
Attractants	Unlike baits, attractants are optional. They also have special stats and some of them can attract "boss" fishes at around 20% chance , these boss fishes may drop special loots. Attractants can be crafted on fishing master NPCs. If equipped, it will be consumed. Attractants can be crafted via the Fishing Master.
Fishing License	Shadow Accessory. Though not required to be equipped. They also give stats. There are different fishing licenses, some of them are special while other are based on ranks.
Fishing Hat	Equipped as costume headgear. Can be crafted (not yet available). Mostly obtained from fishes, they also give different stats. Some can also be bought from the Fishing Merchant
Fishing Vest	Equipped as shadow armor. Can be crafted (not yet available). Mostly obtained from fishes, they also give different stats that can be helpful in your fishing. Some can also be bought from the Fishing Merchant.
Fishing Gloves	Equipped as another shadow accessory. They also give fishing stats. They are mostly obtained through fishing. Some can also be bought from the Fishing Merchant.
Fishing Boots	Equipped as another shadow armor on the boots slot. They also give fishing stats. They are mostly obtained through fishing. Some can also be bought from the Fishing Merchant.
Companions	Equipped as lower headgear costume. They give different fishing stats too. They are usually good on "fetching" fishes. Some can also be bought from the Fishing Merchant.

Fish List

Aside from the items listed as drops, there's a chance to get a random drop that doesn't belong to a certain fish. Most of these drops are common loots such as attractants, baits, ingredients, and sometimes Blood Pearl. This is similar to the Golden Piranha Shoal. While Golden Piranha has specific drops, you still have chance to get different items from the one listed. Also note that some fish may appear in more than one shoal, and most of the time, they have different item drops.

There are specific shoals in Atlantis and quite a few in a few maps, to be certain as to what item you might get, you can choose "More Information" when you click on those shoals.

These fishes require no specific attractant. However, you must be using Fresh Lobster as a bait, otherwise, they'll never appear for you. They have a chance of appearing in all shoals. Furthermore, you can also increase your Mythical Attraction stat to increase the chance of encountering them. Opening the caught fish have a chance of getting good items.

Easter 2023 Monsters of Deadly Sin

These aren't your typical fish that you simply cast your line and hope that you'll be able to reel it in. Rather, you'll be "battling" against monsters. If you win, you'll get an usable item of the monster plus up to a maximum of 7 other items (some of which may be Easter 2023 event items). Using the monsters will give you a random item, ranging from really cheap ones to extremely valuable items. You can acquire these monsters by challenging the Deep Sea Beast.

How do you challenge the Deep Sea Beast?

1. Before the start of each battle, you'll be assigned a "Virtue." The monster will also be assigned a "Sin." The Virtue and Sin that you and the monster get will determine the skills that are available for the two of you respectively. The monster will also be given stats, and these are given at random every time.
2. There are seven Virtues and seven Sins. The Virtue and Sin that you and the monster will get is given at random.
3. Once the battle starts, your main objective is to defeat the monster by reducing its health to 0 or less.
4. There are various skills that you and the monster can use. These skills require a number of "energy" points. You and the monster automatically regenerates 1 energy after every turn.
5. There are 3 types of skills that you use each turn: (1) Normal Attacks, which are your bread and butter skills in dealing damage, and they cost 1-3 energy; (2) Recovery Skills, which can only be used once every two turns, and they cost 0-3 energy. These skills can allow you to regenerate energy and/or health; and lastly the (3) Virtues Skills, which varies depending on the Virtue that has been assigned to you and costs 3-5 energy. These skills are considered your ultimate skills and have unique effects.
6. In turn, each monster of sin also have their own skills to use. Each monster possesses seven skills each.
7. If you have successfully defeated the monster, you will be given rewards. You can get a up to a maximum of seven items. The amount of rewards you get and the the rewards given are random every time.

Fishing Spots with Specific Fishes

These fishing shoals are found in Atlantis. You can select "More Information" upon clicking on a shoal to check the fish information in these shoals. (this feature will be added in other shoals soon)

Advantage: This shoal only give these specific fishes so it's easier to hunt a specific fish you need for quest etc. Though, attractants and special bait can still attract mythical and boss fishes here.

Disadvantage: Some fish on these type of shoal has very high required attraction. It means if your attraction is low, there a high chance that you'll fail to attract any fish in that shoal. These shoals also has minimum required attraction power. Minimum is about 50% chance that you'll be able to attract any fish in that shoal.

Social Stamina System

To balance the fishing system and to open it for more future updates and reduce the possibility of people exploiting it, we decided to add the social stamina system. Each fishing attempt will now consume 1 stamina. There are plenty of ways to gain stamina.

This is once a day. Please take note that this reset everyday and it uses gepard check. It means even if you use new account it will only allow you to do it once per device.

1. Daily Quest - rewards a tradable Medium Stamina Potion (+20 Stamina). Medium Stamina Potion can only be used once per day, per device/account.
2. Fishing Daily Quest - 20 stamina (once per day)
3. Zeph Quest - rewards a tradable Small Stamina Potion (+10 Stamina) and can be repeated 5x per day. Small Stamina Potion can only be used 5 times per day, per device/account.
4. Scavenger Hunt - 5 stamina (max 15 stamina)
5. Join Dice - 10 stamina (please take note that you only need to join, not to win)
6. Join Survival - 10 stamina (once per day)
7. Join Poring Catcher - 10 stamina (once per day)
8. Join Goblin invasion and kill at least 10 goblins - 10 stamina (once per day)
9. Some Instances - (Kimi/Orc Memory/Faceworm) - 10 stamina (max 30 stamina). you can repeat doing instances like Orc memory if you like.
10. Automated Treasure Boxes - 2 stamina per box kill (max 10 stamina)

Take note:

• The Stamina points you get will not disappear. This means, for example, you can accumulate Stamina Points from doing the activities above from Monday to Friday, and just do Fishing on Saturday and Sunday.
• Using Stamina Potions beyond its daily limit will not reward any additional stamina. While it returns the item used, spam opening it may result in losing the stamina potion. So, make sure to only use them up to the maximum limit per day.
• The Golden Piranha Event Shoal does not consume Stamina Points while fishing.

The wisdom of the ancients teaches that to fish effectively, one must embark on a path of cultivation, where the angler's inner peace becomes intertwined with the ebb and flow of the waters.


Unleash your inner fish! With this new update, you'll be able to various additional fishing stats.

The original plan to allow players to enchant their fishing equipment using fishing stones didn't work as we had originally intended. Due to the current limitations of our server, we have decided to change it from fishing equipment enchantment to inner self tempering. Similar to how you enchant equipment, you can now enchant yourself with additional fishing stats those fishing stones. The Bloodbranch Corals used for this system will be a rare drop from mythical fishes. You can also craft a random fishing stone using Bloodbranch Coral and Blood Pearls, but the chance to craft rare stones is only 3%.

Much like the skills you have for fishing (@fishing), take note that the stats granted by this system is account bound as well. You can check your current stats by talking to the Fishing Tempering NPC and choosing the "Check Your Tempering Stats" option.

1. Find the Fishing Tempering NPC in @warp atlantis 138 223
2. Choose the "Random Enchantment/Tempering" option. Each tempering/enchanting attempt costs 5x Bloodbranch Corals and 10x Blood Pearls.
3. You must now choose an aspect to enchant/temper. Once you've chosen an aspect, proceed to temper/enchant. You'll be given a random enchant for that aspect.

Tempering Using a Stone

1. If you have a fishing stone, you can choose to use that instead.
2. Find the Fishing Tempering NPC in @warp atlantis 138 223
3. After talking to the NPC, choose the "Use _______ Stone" option depending on the stone that you want to use.
4. Choose the aspect that you wish to temper/enchant the stone to.
5. Tempering/enchanting using a stone will cost you 1x of that stone and 3x Bloodbranch Coral.
6. You'll be given the stat that's indicated in the stone.

NOTES:

• The tempered stats are account bound. The stats will remain even if you use/change to a different character.
• The stats are permanent and are not removed when changing equipment.
• You can only temper one type of stat onto an aspect. This applies to both random tempering and stones.
  • If you initially temper the Mind aspect and got a "Fetch Stone" enchant, and you decide to re-temper the Mind aspect, the Fetch Stone will be replaced with a different stone/enchant.
  • If you instead decide to use a +1 Rebait Stone on the Mind aspect, the "Fetch Stone" will be replaced with the Rebait Stone.
• There's a chance that you'll get the same stone/enchant if you re-temper using the random option.
• Tempering/Enchanting has no chance of failure.
• If you have enough copies of one stone, you can them temper/enchant all of them onto all aspects. This means if you have 6 pieces of a +1 Loot Rate Stone, and you temper/enchant them onto all aspects, you'll get a total of +6 Loot Rate stat.
• All fishing stones can be used on all aspects.

Fishing Commands

---

@fishing - Grants access to various aspects of fishing.

• Fishing Stats - Shows your current fishing stats
• Fishing Skills - Shows the available fishing skills. You can level up your fishing skills from here.
• Reset Fishing Skills - Allows you to reset your fishing skills for 100 Fishing Coins.
• Set-Up Fishing Gears - Allows you to apply the effect of some fishing gears in your inventory, allowing you to wear a different costume instead of directly wearing the fishing gear. Do take note that the fishing gear needs to be in your inventory for this to work.
• Enable/Disable Pop-Up Notification - If enabled, a pop up message will appear to notify you that your cooldown is finished. If disabled, you will only receive a "sound effect" and a display message in the chat window to notify you. This notification will not appear if you log out or character select.

@fishingskill - Allows you to directly access your fishing skills.

@fishdrop <fish name> - Shows you the item drops of a fish. Ex. @fishdrop grass carp

@whichfish <item ID> - Shows you which fishes drop a certain fishing item. Ex. @whichfish 26412

Fishing Daily Quest

You can take this quest from the Fishing Union Chairman NPC. He Will ask players to bring random fishes and drops.

This quest has an account and device cooldown.

Difficulty and/or rewards might change depending on angler level later.

The quest has 23 hours cooldown. It will reset 23 hours after you take the quest.

You cannot change your quest. Most fishes are tradeable so you can buy from other players or trade with them.

Rewards:

• 250m zeny bag.
• Random Fishing Coins: 30 - 50 pcs.
• Random Fishing EXP: 200-250 EXP

Golden Piranha

A Gold Piranha fishing spot will appear during the following times (server time)

• 19:03
• 02:03
• 10:03
• 14:03

Additional Details:

• The duration of this fishing spot is 55 minutes.
• This fishing spot has a fixed cooldown of 1 minute.
• The stamina of fish here greatly depends on your fishing stats. Therefore, anyone has a chance to catch and miss a fish depending on their luck.
• EXP is random, ranging from 5-15 EXP.
• The fishes here can drop really good stuffs, from zeny bag to random goodies.
• No required bait. As such, you can simply used the cheapest bait available.
• Special attractants cannot be used here.
• As of 09-19-22, instead of being completely removed, this fishing shoal with continue to run its usual daily schedule. However, the rate of getting rewards is lowered.
• Fishing Captcha is disabled in this shoal.
• This shoal does not consume stamina points when fishing.

Note: This shoal was supposed to only last for 1 month. Nearing its end, it has been decided that the shoal will still continue to run, but with reduced rate of getting rewards. As this isn't a permanent automated event, there will be times that this shoal will be intentionally disabled.
