Nydhoggur's Shadow Entrance Quest

These are the quests required to unlock Nydhoggur's Shadow Instance

 NOTE: You can only finish these quests once, after all these you can now enter Nydhoggur's Instance whenever you like but has 3 days cool down everytime you finish it.


Part 1: Onward to the New World Quest

 Items required: 300 Jellopy, 1 Ruby, 1 Emerald.


  1. Talk to the Recruiter for the Brave in @warp prt_castle 83 67
    • Tell him you're interested in his mission, which is to visit a "special place."
    • He then asks you to visit a Promotional Staff member in Aldebaran.

  2. Talk to the Promotional Staff member @warp aldebaran 127 138
    • As a test, he asks you to bring him 300 Jellopy.
    • After handing over the Jellopy, he asks you to visit a Promotional Staff Member in Geffen.

  3. In Geffen, talk to the Staff member @warp geffen 90 67
    • He asks you to bring 1 Emerald.
    • After turning it in, he asks you to bring 1 Ruby.
    • Bring him the Ruby, and he sends you to talk to the next staff member in Izlude.

  4. In Izlude, talk to the Staff member @warp izlude 102 171
    • He tells you that you've passed the tests, and to talk to the Recruiter in Prontera Castle again.

  5. Return to the Recruiter for the Brave @warp prt_castle 83 67
    • He says you are now ready to explore the "Ash-Vacuum" which is an entirely different place from Rune Midgard.
    • He tells you to go to Lighthalzen to register for the United Midgard Alliance.

  6. In Lighthalzen, go into Rekenber HQ and talk to one of the Guards upstairs @warp lhz_in01 124 234, who let you in to register.

  7. Talk to Sikaiz, Kai @warp lhz_in01 132 259 at the front of the desk, who's giving a speech.
    • After Sikaiz is finished lecturing, speak to him again and he will tell you about the Ash Vaccum and Satan Morroc's gateway.
    • Speak to him (Sikaiz) again and he will ask you to inform the Alliance Manager in Rune Midgard that they are ready to depart.

  8. The Alliance Manager @warp prt_castle 121 51 in Prontera Castle
    • He's at Continental Room at the right side of Recruiter for the Brave.
    • Sew will discuss with you how the kingdom feels about the upcoming expedition.

  9. Go back to Sikaiz in Lighthalzen, @warp lhz_in01 132 259 who tells you about the Three Kingdom's Alliance and his aide Munkenro.
    • He asks you to deliver a message to the Alliance Manager in Rachel.

  10. Find the Arunafeltz Alliance Manager @warp ra_temple 119 113 outside the temple in Rachel and report the status to her.

  11. Go back to Sikaiz, @warp lhz_in01 132 259 who registers you and sends you to talk to some Officers to let them know of your departure. Go downstairs to the banquet hall
    1. @warp lhz_in01 147 179 (next to the stairs on the right)
      • talk to them, but first you overhear them plotting to ignore the peace and take control of things for themselves.
  12. Report back upstairs, but the guards won't let you in. Walk to @warp lhz_in01 148 257
    • You'll able to overhear Munkenro talking to someone.
      • NOTE: If you are unable to overhear anything, then simply continue to the next step

  13. Talk to the Guard outside of the lecture hall @warp lhz_in01 130 231.
    • Ask it to teleport you immediately to the Continental Guard Quarantine moc_fild20
    • Talk to the Rift Guard @warp moc_fild20 349 17. He takes you to the Dimensional Gorge.

  14. From the middle of the right side of the map, go towards the center until you reach Munkenro (moc_fild22b 230, 197) /navi moc_fild22 230/197
      • NOTE: copy /navi because you cannot use @warp/@jump while inside moc_fild22b. /navi will show you directions
    • He says Sikaiz has "retired" and that he is now the alliance leader.
    • Talk to him again and he will give you to pass another test, by defeating 50 Allied Soldier who will spawn on this map.

  15. After passing the test, talk to Munkenro again /navi moc_fild22 230/197, who sends you to the Ash-Vacuum.
 Note: To ensure you can travel around in the New World, start New Surroundings and Attitude to the New World.

Part 2: New Surroundings

 Items required: 20 Ordinary Branch (step 5-2), 20 Strong Vine.
  1. Talk to Marian @warp mid_camp 222 283
    • She tells you to talk to Instructor Lugen, and gives you a Chocolate Pie.

  2. Talk to Instructor Lugen @warp mid_camp 261 284
    • Who says you need to register with the Receptionist at the big building in the center of the camp.

  3. Talk to Receptionist Brink @warp mid_campin 106 122
    • He registers you, gives you another Chocolate Pie, and sends you back to Lugen.

  4. Talk to Instructor Lugen @warp mid_camp 261 284
    • Lugen gives you another Chocolate Pie, and tells you to go to the Barracks to rest for the night.

  5. At the entrance to the Barracks, speak to Diego @warp mid_camp 264, 263
    • Offer to help him.
    • He asks you to bring him 20 Ordinary Branch and 20 Strong Vine.
      1. Strong Vine is dropped by Nephentes on the first Manuk Field. @warp man_fild01
      2. For Ordinary Branch click on one of the trees at ( @warp spl_fild02 232 143 ), ( @warp spl_fild02 306 152 ), or ( @warp spl_fild02 379 197 ) repeatedly until you have 20 Ordinary Branch

  6. Return to Diego with the parts @warp mid_camp 264, 263
    • He asks you to fix the posts with them.

  7. Speak to one of the Posts at (267 263) or (267 258) near Diego
    • Select Attach the Tree Bar then Tie it with vines.
    • Repeat this til the post has been fixed and then select the option Knot it.

  8. Do the same to the other post, once it is repaired, talk to Diego again @warp mid_camp 264, 263
    • Recieve 5 Chocolate Pie.

  9. You will then be warped inside to your bed. Speak to Lucas.
    • Recieve 1 Chocolate Pie.

  10. Return to Instructor Lugen @warp mid_camp 261 284
    • He asks you to distribute some supplies. He directs you to Marian.
    • Receive 1 Chocolate Pie.

  11. Speak to Marien @warp mid_camp 222 283
    • Receive 1 Chocolate Pie and 3 Supply Box.

  12. Instructor Lugen @warp mid_camp 261 284
    • He tells you to deliver the 1st box to Jan, northwest of the camp.

  13. Deliver the supplies to Jan @warp mid_camp 162 298
    • Receive 1 Chocolate Pie.

  14. Return to Instructor Lugen @warp mid_camp 261 284
    • Your next delivery is to Gerard across the west bridge.

  15. Delivery the supplies to Gerard mid_camp 30 168
    • Receive 1 Chocolate Pie.

  17. The last delivery is to Alberto @warp man_fild01 80 248
    • He asks for your help to open the box.
    • Receive 1 Chocolate Pie.

  19. Talk again to Lugen until he asks you to deliver a letter for him.
    • Receive 1 Letter to Otto.

  20. Deliver his letter to Otto mid_camp 123 290
    • Otto has a letter for you to send back to Lugen.
    • Receive 1 Letter to Lugen.
    • Receive 1 Chocolate Pie.

  21. Deliver Otto's Letter to Instructor Lugen @warp mid_camp 261 284
    • Receive 5 Chocolate Pie.
    • Receive 1 Old Purple Box.

Part 3.1: Attitude to the New World

 Items required: 1 Strong Vine, 1 Empty Bottle, 5 Holy Water, 30 Sticky Mucus, 20 Horn of Hillslion.
  1. Speak to Rumis Block (NPC name is Monster Scholar) @warp mid_camp 188 254
    • He tells you he hates the New World and loathes his job.

  2. Speak to Camp Guard @warp mid_camp 336 171
    • Go and kill a Nepenthes and bring back a Strong Vine to help Rumis realize these monsters aren't so scary.

  3. Return to Rumis Block @warp mid_camp 188 254
    • With 1 Strong Vine, he thanks you and asks for further help.
    • He needs some supplies to prepare a Nepenthes specimen.
      • 1 Empty Bottle
      • 5 Holy Water
      • 30 Sticky Mucus

  4. Rumis asks you to deliver his specimen to his brother Terris Block (NPC name is Botanist) @warp mid_camp 240 270

  5. After some conversation, Terris asks you to talk to 30 or so of the pretty girls to the west.
    • Kill 30 Pinguicula. @warp spl_fild02

  6. Once the Pinguicula have been dispatched, Return to Terris @warp mid_camp 240 270
    • He tells you that Cornus have been destroying his climate monitors. Has asks to to teach them a lesson.
    • Kill 10 Cornus @warp spl_fild01

  7. Return to Terris @warp mid_camp 240 270
    • He tells you he suspects the land to the west is cultivated.
    • He hands you a Decaying Stem and asks you to meet him near the mushroom west of the bridge.

  8. Walk over the end of the bridge and he will appear. Talk to him and plant the Decaying Stem in the dirt @warp mid_camp 52 148

  9. After the Sprout comes to life talk to Terris again @warp mid_camp 240 270
    • Terris asks you to inform Rumis of his success.

  10. Return to Rumis @warp mid_camp 188 254
    • Rumis has already heard, and strives to make his own discovery.
    • Rumis asks you to meet him at the end of the east bridge to escort him to study a one of the new species.

  11. Walk past @warp man_fild01 55 259
    • Rumis tells you to head towards the tree slightly southeast.

  12. Talk to the Frozen Tree @warp man_fild01 92 229
    • Rumis climbed the tree because monsters were looking at him.
    • He asks you to hunt 20 Horn of Hillslion @warp man_fild03

  13. Return to the tree with 20 horn @warp man_fild01 92 229
    • Rumis sees nothing particularly interesting about them, but he has gained the confidence to come to his tree alone next time.
    • He asks you to talk to him back at the camp @warp mid_camp 188 254

  14. Rumis heard about someone being attacked to the east, he asks you to go investigate if the natives are hostile.
    • Kill 10 Tatacho. @warp man_fild02

  15. Return to Rumis @warp mid_camp 188 254
    • He thanks your for your help and asks you some questions:
      • Which monster is the owner of the Tricorn hat?: Tatacho
      • Which size is the hat?: Enter something

  16. Bring Rumis one Horn of Tendrilion.

Part 3.2: Tripatriate Union's Feud

 Items required:  1 Folding Fan of Cat Ghost, 1 Flame Stone, 1 Old Frying Pan, 1 Squid Ink.
  1. Walk near the United Research Official @warp mid_campin 376 120
    • He asks you to speak to the people managing the documents.

  2. Speak to Ryosen @warp mid_camp 165 245
    • He asks you to deliver a Meeting Invitation to Hue, then to Hansenne.

  3. Deliver the invitation to Hue @warp mid_camp 247 255
    • Ask him to sign it.

  4. Next deliver the invitation to Hansenne @warp mid_camp 222 218
    • Ask him to sign it.

  5. Return to Ryosen, @warp mid_camp 165 245
    • he directs you to return to the United Research Official.

  6. The United Research Official @warp mid_campin 376 120
    • He will ask you to check on each of the researchers to make sure they're preparing for their meeting.

  7. Speak to Ryosen @warp mid_camp 165 245
    • Retrieve a document from Hansenne.

  8. Hansenne @warp mid_camp 222 218
    • He tells you he lost the document while playing on the west bridge.
    • He suggests you go fishing.

  9. Take the west or go to @warp mid_camp 69 134
    • You will find a School of Fish in the water, just look to your right hand side and you find the place.
    • Attempt to fish until you retrieve a Messy File.

  10. Return to Hansenne @warp mid_camp 222 218
    • He tells you to take the document to Hue to restore it.

  11. Go to Hue @warp mid_camp 247 255
    • He requires 1 Folding Fan of Cat Ghost, 1 Flame Stone, 1 Old Frying Pan, 1 Squid Ink to restore the document.
    • After giving him the items, he restores the document and gives you a Neat Report.

  12. Return the document to Ryosen @warp mid_camp 165 245
    • He then asks you to go the Official to wait for the meeting to start.

  13. Walk up to the Official, @warp mid_campin 376 120
    • The meeting begins. The three researchers give their reports, but the meeting is interrupted by the appearance of Thief Bugs
    • Everyone (including yourself) leaves the room.

  14. Reenter the building and kill all of the Thief Bugs, after which the others reappear.

  15. Walk over to the Official, and the "meeting" resumes, whereupon Ryosen accuses the rest of tampering with his precious Cake

    • An argument ensues, until the Official finally tells everyone to call it a day.

  16. Walk back again towards the Official, where you explain that you know Hansenne wasn't the tamperer, although he took the blame for it.

  17. Talk to Hansenne,
    • He gives you a Arunafeltz Desert Sandwich in appreciation for your caring.
    • He suggests you help Ryosen and Hue get along better.

  18. Talk to Hue, who asks you to take the Rune Midgard report to Ryosen,
    • He gives you a Schwartzwald Pine Jubilee in thanks.

  19. Hand the report to Ryosen, who realizes he should've thanked Hue earlier, and asks you to set up another meeting with the Official.
    • He gives you a piece of Rune Strawberry Cake in appreciation.

  20. Talk to the Official, who thanks you for all the work you've done
    • He gives you a First Aid Kit

Part 4: Report from the New World

  1. Talk to Hibba Agip who is on the north side of the table in the center @warp mid_campin 90 114
    • He and Abidail discuss your accomplishments.

  2. Talk to Staff Officer Abidail at the east end of the table, accept his request. He tells you to talk to Commander Agip.

  3. Speak to Hibba Agip again, he gives you a document and asks you to speak to the messenger at the dimensional gate.

  4. Find Expedition Messenger @warp mid_camp 206 286
    • while you are discussing the report, someone sneaks up and attempts to take it.
    • If you attempt to safeguard the report from the attacker, it will be easier later to re-assemble the report later.

  5. Return to Hibba Agip @warp mid_campin 90 114
    • Inform him that the report has been destroyed.
    • He tells you to go find the pieces of it.

  6. Staff Officer Abidail asks you to bring him pages of the report in increments of 10.

  7. Speak to any of the Expedition Scout on the New World field maps.

      • Select the first option, asking for a progress report on the search for pages.
      • The soldier will give you one of three responses: He found some pages (usually 1, 2, or 3), he is still searching and asks you to return later, or it is very difficult and he hasn't found any pages.

  8. After returning with 10 pages (or more, in increments of 10) to Abidail @warp mid_campin 90 114
    • He will try to restore one of the four volumes of the report. Keep searching for pages until all the volumes are restored.
      • NOTE There is a very high chance that the pages brought do not form a single volume, or that they form a volume you already have. You will lose 10 pages and must collect more.

  9. Return to Abidail when you have all 4 volumes @warp mid_campin 90 114
    • Ask for the second selection requesting a progress report, and he will recognize all 4 volumes and bind them together.

  10. Speak to Hibba Agip and he will make copies of the report for you.
    • You will now have three copies given to you of the final report.
    • He instructs you to follow the plan as before, except that you will now deliver the reports instead of his soldiers; he has stationed more soldiers in the area to protect you.

  11. Deliver a report to Laur in the throne room of Prontera Castle @warp prt_castle 88 164

Part 5: Ring of the Wise King

 Items required:  1 Unidentified Mineral (Unidentified Ore dropped in Caspen Dungeon/Goblin Invasion)
  1. Speak to Schwartzvald Mechanic @warp mid_camp 197 237 outside the Alliance Headquarters of Rune Midgard Allied Forces Post
    • He tells you about the Ring of the Wise King, and asks you to speak to the Arunafeltz Linguist on the second floor of the Alliance Headquarters.

  2. Inside, up the stairs, find the Arunafeltz Linguist @warp mid_campin 168 82 in the room to the far right.
    • He asks you to visit the Faerie and Giants out on the fields and remember every single word they say.
      • Note: Each line is goes in the same dialog.

  3. Go back to Arunafeltz Linguist @warp mid_campin 168 82
    • He will tell you that he isn't able to make any sense of the languages and refers you to the Rune Midgart's Magician.

  4. The Rune Midgart's Magician @warp mid_camp 147 256 located in the west portion of the allied camp,
    • He needs to hear the languages being pronounced.
      • He had some assassins bury gems near the villages to record the spoken languages.
      • He would like you to go retrieve the gems.

  5. Talk to the Half Buried Gem @warp spl_fild02 26 218 near the Small Fairy, and attempt to dig it out.
    • Several thief bugs will spawn, kill them. Repeat until you obtain a Red Jewel from it.

  6. Talk to the Half Buried Gem @warp man_fild03 227 109 near the Tree Giant, and attempt to dig it out.
    • Several thief bugs will spawn, kill them. Repeat until you obtain a Blue Jewel from it.

  7. Return to the Rune Midgart's Magician with the gemstones @warp mid_camp 147, 256
    • He says he will extract the voices from the gems and send them to the Arunafeltz Linguist.

  8. Return to the Arunafeltz Linguist @warp mid_campin 168 82
    • He tells you that he has made amazing progress decoding the language
      • So much so that he's unsure how to even store all the data.
      • He asks you to speak the Schwartzvalt Mechanic.

  9. The Schwartzvald Mechanic @warp mid_camp 197 237
    • He says he needs some way to store the massive amount of data and asks you to inquire with the Rune Midgart's Magician about a magical gem to hold the data.

  10. The Rune Midgart's Magician @warp mid_camp 147 256
    • He needs an ore unlike any found in the old world to store the data.
    • He asks you to go find one of these ores on the Manuk fields.

  11. Return to Rune Midgart's Magician @warp mid_camp 147 256
    • He asks you to wait a minute while he works his magic.

  12. Return to him with 1 Unidentified Ore @warp mid_camp 147 256
    • He asks you to take the gem to the Schwartzvalt Mechanic
    • Keep talking to the magician repeatedly until you receive the gem.

  13. The Schwartzvald Mechanic @warp mid_camp 147 256 will tell you it will take him at least an hour to complete a machine to translate using the gem
    • Return in one hour.

  14. Return to the Schwartzvalt Mechanic @warp mid_camp 147 256 and he will give you the Ring of the Ancient Wise King

Part 6: Two Tribes

 Items required:  Ring of the Ancient Wise King, 6 Ygg Berries
  1. In splendide the main village area, enter the first hut on the right side or @warp spl_in01 32 306
    • Arc (Guard Fairy) will stop you at first, but you can speak to him again and he will introduce himself.
    • Offer to help him look for his friend. He tells you his friend frequently ties knots in weeds to leave a trail
      • Note: All traces are named ????
        • Talk to the weeds outside the village @warp spl_fild02 44 214 they are knotted and point south
        • Talk to the weeds near @warp spl_fild02 123 106 they are knotted and point east.
        • Talk to the weeds near @warp spl_fild02 330 192 they are knotted and point north
        • Talk to the footprints near @warp spl_fild02 328 322 the footprints are headed north
        • Near @warp spl_fild01 343 109 there are more footprints which lead to the root of a huge tree

  2. Enter the Nydhoggur's Dungeon found below the Yggdrasil Tree just east @warp spl_fild01 373 110 of where the last footprints are found.

  3. Inside the dungeon, click on the Petrified Sapha @jump 57 222 in the northwest corner.

  4. Walk north a few cells to @jump 62 232 and climb out of the dungeon.

  5. Return to Arc @warp spl_in01 32 306 he tells you Terra left with some bradium, after some discussion, you decide to head back to the Petrified Sapha.

  6. Return to the Petrified Sapha, after noticing bits of bradium ore scattered about, you decide to go visit the Sapha.
    • Steps 2-5.

  7. In Manuk, speak to the Villagers near @warp manuk 278 177 they mention Terra's arrival in Manuk.

  8. Speak to Snorren @warp man_in01 175 59 and offer to interpret for him.

  9. Speak to Snorren again, the guard on the other side of the door says Terra's wounds need to be treated first. Head back to Arc to find out how.

  10. Speak to Arc @warp spl_in01 32 306, he tells you that Yggdrasil Berries are the best way to cure a Laphine's wounds.
    • He gives you 3 and tells you that you can get more at the root of the Yggdrasil Tree.
      • Collect 1 Yggdrasil Berry from the fruit near (spl_fild01 356, 42).
      • Collect another Yggdrasil Berry from the fruit near (spl_fild01 314, 78).
      • Collect the last Yggdrasil Berry from the fruit near (spl_fild01 328, 26).

  11. Return to Snorren with the Berries.
    • (Warning: If you have more than 6 Berries, he will take them ALL i.e 100 berries, he will take them all)

  12. Return to Sorren @warp man_in01 175 59
    • After giving Snorren the Berries, enter the room behind him.
    • Talk to him then talk to the captured Laphine, she will tell you about the injured Sapha.
    • Her captors are skeptical and want to see proof to ensure they are not being led into a trap.

  13. Return the Petrified Sapha. You will need to take something back with you, take his Muffler and the Bradium.
    • Steps 2-5.

  14. Return to Snorren with the items @warp man_in01 175 59
    • He recognizes that the bradium has not been properly refined and would not have helped Ogen.
    • He also recognizes the muffler as Ogens. He asks you to lead him to the roots of the tree.

  15. Return to the Petrified Sapha, Snorren tells you Ogen is too far gone to be saved. His body can remain as a statue in his honor.
    • Steps 2-5.

  16. Return to Snorren, @warp man_in01 175 59
    • He will reward you with 15 Manuk Coin.

  17. Return to Arc @warp spl_in01 32 306
    • He tells you to meet him at Terra's Yai @warp splendide 285 139 Inside, talk to Terra
    • Receive 25 Splendide Coin

Part 7: Guardian of Yggdrasil

  1. Talk to the Yggdrasil Gatekeeper at (nyd_dun02 99 199).
    • How to reach the gatekeeper:
      • Enter Yggdrasil Dungeon at spl_fild01 368 112
      • Enter the portal located at 3 o'clock of the map @jump 252 144 (not shown on minimap). The portal markings on the minimap are exits only.

  2. Once in level 2, walk right until you've reached a cliff.
    • Control the "Strange Device" at (nyd_dun02 137, 274), and cross the canyon by stepping on the circles.
    • Stepping anywhere outside the shown circles will return you to the bottom right corner of the previous map.
      • Turn on effects (/effect)

  3. After crossing the cliff, follow the path consisting of stairs and roots until you've arrived at a gate at (nyd_dun02 99, 199).

  4. Tell Commander Agip @warp mid_campin 90 121 about the cave you found, he tells you to find Historian Magnifier.

  5. Ask Historian Magnifier @warp mid_camp 271 299 for help. He tells you to visit his assistant in the Prontera library.

  6. Talk to Assistant Naomi @warp prt_in 171 94 and she will give you several papers to read.

  7. Return to Magnifier @warp mid_camp 271 299 he tells you to go investigate what the Laphine and Sapha know. Chose to go to either the Laphine or Sapha

    • Laphine:
      1. Talk to the Grumbling Soldier in the Splendide @warp splendide 198 178 and ask him about the tree.
      2. Then speak to Commander Lebiordirr @warp spl_in01 110 60

    • Sapha:
      1. Talk to the Laphine Prisoner @warp man_in01 291 62
      2. Talk to Neat Etorr @warp man_in01 311 57 in the same building.

  8. Return to Magnifier @warp mid_camp 271 299 he tells you to speak to Commander Agip to get his opinion.

  9. Return to Commander Agip @warp mid_campin 90 121

    • Agip decides to ask both tribes for help exploring the cave. This will force each to help you to prevent you from getting help from their enemy.
    • Note: You need to follow whichever path you took, Either Laphine or Sapha

  10. You are presented with a choice of which tribe to go to in order to seek assistance.

    • Laphine Branch:
      1. Speak to the Laphine Commander @warp spl_in01 110 60 and threaten to ask the Sapha's help if she refuses hers. She will agree to help and ask you to talk to Aide Arioss.
      2. Aide Arioss @warp spl_in01 104 56 will give you a token to mark you as a guardian of the Yggdrasil and tell you the password to get past the door.

    • Sapha Branch:

    • Manuk:
      1. Talk to Etorr @warp man_in01 311 57 and then with the Laphine Prisoner @warp man_in01 291 62. You will receive 10 Manuk Coins.
