As part of the overall BraveRO revamp, we have released a completely updated theme for our website and control panel!
The control panel itself is still the same system you already know, but the home page, menus, feature pages and overall organization have received a major facelift.
We had originally planned to hold this theme back until the 2026 server migration was completed, as mentioned in our BraveRO 2026 Upgrade announcement.
Honestly, the new theme turned out too good and too useful to keep hidden any longer.
Some of the improvements include:
A cleaner and more mature overall design
Better organization throughout the website and control panel
Better ranking and pvp activity tracking
A much more efficient portal for guides and Wiki content
Improved access to the Gear Advisor
Optimized Vending and Item Database pages with item pop-ups
Rewritten and reorganized feature pages
Easier navigation to important BraveRO systems and information
General performance, layout and usability improvements throughout the site
A lot of older pages had grown over the years without much consistency. Some information was difficult to find, some pages were outdated, and some features simply deserved a better presentation.
This update cleans a lot of that up and gives us a much better foundation moving forward.
This is only the beginning of the overall BraveRO revamp.
The emulator, client, patcher, website and many of our existing systems are all being reviewed as part of the larger 2026 upgrade. We figured there was no reason to make everyone wait to enjoy one of the more prepared parts of that project.

We have been fairly quiet lately when it comes to development, and there is a reason for that.
For the past several weeks, the staff team has been working behind the scenes on one of the biggest projects BraveRO has taken on in many years.
We are upgrading BraveRO from our current 2016-based emulator and client to a modern 2026 rAthena emulator and 2026 client.
Until now, this project has only been known internally by administrators and GMs.
This is a massive undertaking.
BraveRO has more than 16 years of custom development behind it. Over those years we have added custom source code, systems, NPCs, commands, items, mechanics and literally hundreds of custom skill modifications and balance changes.
Most of those changes do not simply transfer into a new emulator.
We have to go through the old server feature by feature, compare it against modern rAthena, determine what was customized, why it was changed, and how it should work moving forward.
We are currently reviewing and rebuilding things such as:
Server emulator and source code
2026 game client
BraveRO patcher
Website and control panel
Battlegrounds
Custom commands and systems
NPCs and quests
Items and equipment mechanics
Skill balance and formulas
Security and performance
Database compatibility
3rd Job changes
4th Jobs and newer Ragnarok mechanics
A modern emulator also introduces a lot of things that did not exist in our current setup, including 4th Jobs, new formulas, instances, features, major 3rd Job changes and newer mechanics.
We are still brainstorming how to best adapt BraveRO's custom balance around these changes.
Simply copying every old modification would not make sense in all cases, but neither would accepting every modern default.
The goal is to modernize BraveRO without losing what makes BraveRO feel like BraveRO.
At this point, the upgrade is still in a closed beta limited to administrators and GMs.
We know this announcement will create a lot of questions, but many of those answers simply do not exist yet.
Right now our priority is testing and development. Every question we stop to research and answer publicly is time taken away from actually completing the upgrade.
So for now, the best way players can help is simply by being patient.
Once we are ready for an open beta, we will welcome questions, feedback and player testing.
That is when we will need the community helping us test skills, items, quests, PvP, Battlegrounds and anything else that may behave differently.
We do not expect a wipe or rollback when the upgrade is completed.
The intention is to migrate the existing BraveRO database, accounts, characters, items and player progress into the new environment.
This is an upgrade to the existing server, not a restart of BraveRO.
HALLOWEEN EVENT
Halloween is also right around the corner.
We will still have a Halloween event, but because most of our development time is currently focused on the 2026 upgrade, this year's event may be smaller than usual or may start a little later.
We would rather keep the event simple and continue making progress on an upgrade that will affect BraveRO for many years to come.
There is still a lot of work ahead of us, but progress is being made every day.
The goal is to bring BraveRO into 2026 while preserving the progression, balance, custom systems and identity that have kept the server alive all these years.
Once we are ready to open the beta to players, we will let everyone know.
